Rule one: automate revenue leaks before anything else

Common revenue leaks include unanswered calls, delayed lead follow-up and website traffic that produces no tracked action. Where the underlying records exist, these gaps can be estimated and compared with the cost of a pilot.

An internal knowledge assistant may be lower priority than a customer-facing queue with a measurable loss. Fund the project with the clearer baseline and safer path to testing first.

Rule two: demand a number before you build

Before we build anything, we ask: how many calls do you miss a week? What is a customer worth? How long does a lead wait for follow-up? Multiply those out and you have the monthly cost of doing nothing. If the system does not clearly beat that number, we tell you not to build it.

Treat a proposal without a baseline, success metric and review window as a technology purchase rather than a demonstrated business outcome.

Rule three: local context is not optional
